    Your Own Customer Gold Mine

    Business Asset Building

Your Intellectual Property and your Customer Database are the two greatest assets in your business.

Today we discuss developing and leveraging your Customer Database and offer some overly simple yet oft avoided techniques for building yours…

First of all please consider your Customer Database to be your ENTIRE Customer Database.  Current Customers for sure, but don’t for a second discount past customers and prospects for the future.    Many businesses manage their existing customer list with zeal and purpose, but few purposefully build the entire database into the asset that it could be.

Many of you are getting the message about the critical importance of ‘lead-capture’ on websites, but this is not simply about on-line strategy anymore than its limited to a traditional brick-n-mortar business.

Consider these three scenarios and carefully consider how you could apply the analogy to your our business to increase, traffic, response, and sales revenue in the future:

When was the last time you ‘shopped’ a business, (physically, on-line, telephone, or other) didn’t buy anything and they never collected your contact information to follow-up with you later?

When was the last time you went to a service business, like a restaurant or a drycleaner, paid for your service and had them ask for your contact information so they could keep in touch with you and entice you to return?

When was the last time you walked into an event and they asked you for your contact information so they could invite you to come again next year?

    Almost never, on all, right?!

But these and many others are all huge opportunities to build up one of your biggest assets for your business, your Customer Database, and most of us are just plain lazy about it.

Your Database is your own acre of diamonds and you must be strategic and aggressive in building it for the future of your business!

    Have a great day!

I think it is important to know who your clientele is, yes. But when you open your doors and seize new opportunities, they will be sure to flow in!
