“The Power of Leadership”

If you fancy yourself creative or a free-spirit, you might struggle with beginning this success habit, but master the basic skills and I assure you, you’ll find the making of lists to be mentally and creatively liberating!

There is not a single successful time management system on earth that does not involve the making and using of lists.  You cannot keep everything straight and on track without at least these four basic lists…

1. A ‘Calendar’ schedule – EXACTLY where you must be and what you OUGHT to be doing day by day and hour by hour.
2. A ‘To Do’ List – Organized by Goal and then by Month, and then by Day (see above) and prioritized “Imperative” or “Important” Tasks. (Charles Schwab once paid Ivy Lee $25,000 for that advice and I just gave it to you for FREE!)
3. A ‘Contact’ List – A Prioritized list of the people you must communicate with Today.
4. A ‘Conference Planner’ – A List for each of the people you interact with often.  Jot down the things you need to connect with them about as they occur to you, but collect them until you can schedule a focused period of time to meet regarding the whole list.

There are uncountable ways to document, organize and transport your lists, but the lists are the lists and they are simply non-negotiable.

Just remember, the scariest number in business is “One”.  Having just one of anything can be devastating if misfortune befalls your one method, so please ensure at minimum one back-up system for whatever system you settle upon be it lap-top or napkin or anything in between.
