    “The Power of Leadership”

Another lesson from Paul J. Meyer’s A Fortune to Share

Opportunity is knocking – Did you just hear that knock on the door?

Over the years, I have made the majority of my income from commissions on sales and royalties from writing.  I have invested these funds in nontraditional ways, exposing a trait of mine – entrepreneurship.  I have a lot of fun with business.  I enjoy negotiating.  I love the thrill of the chase. And I like making a deal

I hear opportunity knocking everywhere.  Others may miss it, but I hear it loud and clear.  I’ll be the one to jump up, grab the handle, and swing the door wide open!

In the book, Paul details many interesting investments made over the years and some of the relevant principles applicable to each scenario.  A ½” newspaper ad leads to the purchase and donation of an apartment complex, a bankrupt farm purchased from the farmer just hours before auction, a slow moving condo development around his tennis club bailed out with salesmanship and creative financing, a couple of overheard lunch conversations leading to timely investments, and an abandoned beachfront home in the Caribbean purchased after ten years of litigation and enjoyed for many years.

Opportunity is everywhere!  I can hear it.  Can you?

Opportunities come in many forms, so be ready.  Perhaps it will be:

    • An idea in your head
    • A need left unmet
    • A hunch in your gut
    • An old For Sale sign
    • A question left unanswered
    • A deal a friend doesn’t want to pursue
    • An ad in the paper
    • An image on TV

    PRINCIPLE: Create your own luck!

Opportunities are everywhere, in every town, with every person you meet, in every book you read, and everywhere you drive.

Are you looking for a great opportunity?

    You should be.

Are you expecting a great opportunity?

    You are now!

“Go out and shake the money tree!” – Paul J. Meyer

    Have a great day!
