    “The Power of Leadership”

Who uses the positive power of negative preparation?

Great examples are successful sports coaches, most of whom wisely use this tool:  Most good coaches go into each game with more than one game plan.  They have a plan for if their team is ahead early.  A different plan for if the team falls behind.  They have plans ready for different combinations of players in case of a key injury during the game.  That is not negative thinking; that is the positive power of negative preparation!

Steps for Using the Positive Power of Negative Preparation

    1. Forget preconceived labels of “positive” and “negative.”
    2. Make a list of every concern, obstacle, negative response, objection… everything that could possibly go wrong.
    3. Develop positive responses to and reactions for all the negatives you’ve thought of.
    4. Have your ideas and information documented and well organized so you can lay hands on it the minute something goes wrong.
    5. Move ahead with great confidence due to your thorough preparation!

“Today will never happen again.  Do not waste it with a false start or no start at all.  You were not born to fail.” – Og Mandino

    Have a productive day!
