“The Power of Leadership”
Punctuality reveals a lot about an individual’s self esteem…
People who abuse themselves and their bodies are painfully demonstrating low self esteem. They do not feel that they are important and therefore nothing and no one else is very important either. And typically people who do seem important are resented.
It has been suggested that the adult who does not keep simple commitments such as appointments is not only saying that you and your time is unimportant but is unwittingly revealing that he does not feel that he or his time is important either. In essence, he is making a low self-esteem statement.
Other people are deliberately late as a means of trying to be or appear to be important. Their intended message is that they can keep you waiting because they are more important than you. The message they actually deliver is that they don’t have much self respect and that they are desperately trying to make themselves feel like a big shot who can steal your time and get away with it. This is a major warning signal that if you deal with this person, you are volunteering yourself for all manner of abuse.
It is clear that a person reveals a great deal about himself by his punctuality or lack of it.

Well, this is a bit to the extreme. We have to appreciate the culture differences. In some parts of the world, people are simply more relaxed and do not always show up on time, and that is their culture and is not related to their self-esteem.
