• A "Magnetic" Message…

    “The Power of Leadership”

Everyone is so “busy” these days, it’s the most common excuse I hear in my business development efforts and it’s a common one I use to easily dodge sales people calling me who seem to accept that excuse and go away happily, so I keep using it!  But how does a successful professional working on new business development get through that smoke screen and connect with “super-busy” prospects?

You must first come to grips with the fact that busy prospects (both those legitimately busy and those just throwing that excuse) have zippo interest in you, your product, your company, your prices, your purpose; all of your blah, blahing about your stuff is not going to motivate them to unbusy themselves for your benefit.  You’ve simply got to let go of traditional concepts of new connection and craft a “magnetic” message that focuses on the overriding interest of the people you want to reach.

If you’re going to sell to me, for example, there are several issues of massive, keep me up at night,  interest that if you were to connect with me on those, I would stop what I’m doing and give you my undivided attention.  If you can figure out what one or some of those things are and connect yourself and what you do to those things, you’ll break through right away.  If you do not, it’s highly likely that I or anyone with a similarly busy life will simply shut you out.

Create a new message which communicates profoundly and urgently with the issues and interests of your ideal prospects.
