“The Power of Leadership”
Bill Glazer calls the Entrepreneur, “the loneliest person on the planet.”
What does he mean by that? Entrepreneurs often have trouble finding people they can freely talk to about their business and who will understand them. For example, if you tell a vendor that business is good, they may raise prices. If you tell them business is bad, they may start selling to a competitor. Employees offer similar but different challenges. Spouses and family generally have heard enough about your business and would rather talk about something else. And the average man on the street simply has no idea what it’s like to be a business owner with your ‘neck in the noose’ as we say.
So an Entrepreneur can only really be feel camaraderie, association, and be comfortable talking about their business with other Entrepreneurs. They are the only ones who can offer real world insights and truly share in your business accomplishments because they are the only ones who really ‘get’ you.
So therefore, the Entrepreneur becomes the loneliest person on the planet and often really feels like they are an island by themselves. This is the main reason why I participate in and recommend my Entrepreneur clients and friends also participate in an Entrepreneurs’ Mastermind or Roundtable or Peak Performers Group of complimentary, non-competing, business leaders that meet regularly and consistently. They can offer a place of genuine understanding and association and provide the tremendous asset of the true mastermind environment we’ve all known about since Think and Grow Rich, but many of us for whatever reason don’t seek out a good group and get connected.
I highly recommend you seek out a group of qualified individuals who can understand you, will help you, can provide real world feedback and truly share in the joy of your successes!
I recently made a promotional video for our local Chamber of Commerce who originally sponsored one of my Roundtable Groups, you may check it out if you like, here’s a YouTube link… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKOPONULC7I
