Six particular people that I recruited come to mind. Each of these six people were leaders with their former organizations, three on a regional basis and three on a national basis. While all six brought in a sizable amount of new business over the short-term, 1 to 3 years, only three were successful with my organization over the long-term. All good people. So what was the difference?

The culturally savvy leader is also a person of equanimity, foresight and patience. They know that even though they may grow frustrated at times with the “different” people they are working with, they will steady themselves and move forward. They are willing and able to do this because they envision a bright future for their business.
