“The Power of Leadership”
I was introduced to the Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale in my mid-20’s by a concerned mentor who was seeking to help me get back on a successful track in sales. I have since worn out two sets of audio-book versions of Dr. Peale’s teaching and given away countless copies of the book.
Dr. Peale was, until college aged, nearly incapacitated by shyness and negativity stemming from a poor-self image. At that time he realized that it was fatal to remain a negative thinker and set about to purposefully retrain his mind for a positive self-image through positive self-talk and affirmations.
Given the seemingly overwhelming negativity of main stream culture today, I thought it a valuable Thought to dig up a few of Dr. Peale’s classic positive thoughts and to share them with you today…
“Change your thoughts and you change your world.”
“Anybody can do just about anything with himself that he really wants to and makes up his mind to do. We are all capable of greater things than we realize.”
“Believe it is possible to solve your problem. Tremendous things happen to the believer. So believe the answer will come and it will come.”
“Practice hope. As hopefulness becomes a habit, you can achieve a permanently happy spirit.”
“Four things for success: work and pray, think and believe.”
If you’ve not read The Power of Positive Thinking, please do so, you’ll find these simple truths to be universally congruent thoughts with the mindset and behavior of most successful people.
“I have no self-confidence. When a woman tells me ‘yes,’ I advise them to think it over.” – Rodney Dangerfield
